The\u00a0 opening ceremony\u00a0in\u00a0the Palace of Nations in Geneva on the 10-11th February featured\u00a030 world-class speakers.\u00a0Although\u00a0COVID restrictions limited the audience to 135, it was streamed worldwide.\u00a0The 10th February\u00a0saw 3100 views from 66 countries\u00a0and\u00a0the 11th,\u00a04211 views from\u00a072 countries. The programme is\u00a0<strong><u><a href=\"http:\/\/iyog2022oc.irg\/\">here<\/a><\/u>.\u00a0<\/strong>You can search the UN web site for\u00a0a\u00a0<u><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/media.un.org\/en\/webtv\/\">video recording here<\/a><\/strong><\/u>\u00a0using\u00a0<em><strong>iyog2022<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em><strong>International Year of Glass<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0as key words. The\u00a0recordings are by session &#8211; but downloads are not possible. Talks highlighted the latest thinking on how\u00a0<em><strong>GLASS<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0can aid\u00a0the development of more just and sustainable societies,\u00a0the most recent scientific and technical\u00a0breakthroughs,\u00a0its influence on\u00a0art and\u00a0in history and finally the\u00a0role\u00a0of museums.<\/p>\n<p>This IYOG event needed\u00a0significant financial support and a\u00a0<em><strong>Global sponsorship campaign<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0was particularly\u00a0successful. Our\u00a0<u><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iyog2022.org\/images\/files\/77-iyog-sponsorship-opportunities-opening-ceremony-2022-release-1-1.pdf\">SPONSORSHIP leaflet<\/a><\/strong><\/u>\u00a0explained\u00a0how to become involved, as a key\u00a0<em><strong>PARTNER<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0or simply as a\u00a0<em><strong>FRIEND<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0Unspent funds from the Opening Ceremony and future donations will be used to support adminstration costs and smaller\u00a0events in the year. following a formal application. A\u00a0<u><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/A6ZEaWvlz6k\">highly inspirational video<\/a><\/strong><\/u>\u00a0is being streamed\u00a0on UTube and already has received 8500 views.<\/p>\n<p>Please expect radical changes and new information on this site as plans progress.
