Through their innovative work, they transformed glass from a utilitarian and decorative material into a medium of its own right within the visual arts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"DE\" style=\"font-family: &#039;Arial&#039;,sans-serif\">In 1958, they presented sculptures made of moulded glass for the first time at the World\u2019s Fair in Brussels. Their works combine geometric forms, light and optical effects. In doing so, they used glass to create striking colour intensities and a sense of spatial depth.
