The 60th Annual Seminar on Glass of the Corning Museum of Glass will be presented Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8, 2022, welcoming presenters and registrants around the world to our live Zoom event. This year’s theme “Expanding the Stories of Glass” will celebrate the United Nations International Year of Glass with a two-day virtual program of presentations and panel discussions that touch on a sampling of aspects of the art, history, and science of glass.

The Seminar will complement this year’s special exhibition Past | Present: Expanding the Stories of Glass, and will broaden the conversation to highlight the essential and pervasive role of glass in historical and contemporary contexts. Sessions will cover topics such as: glass in ancient burial customs, changing perspectives on glass conservation, the cultural, economic, and historical significance of glass beads, and topics in contemporary glass.
