XVI Stanislav Libenský Award, 2025 Competition, Exhibition
The Libenský Award, often referred to as the “Oscar for young glassmakers,” is entering its 16th year and confirms Prague’s role as a global laboratory for glass innovation. This year, the expert jury selected 55 finalists from 17 countries.
The main prize went to Josefína Váchová from the Czech Republic for her work Bilancio.
The jury was impressed by the poetic use of materials, which created a balance and tension between glass and paper.
Second place went to Japanese artist Honoka Wakana with her work The Memory of the Earth.
The jury appreciated the innovative use of a combination of glass and ceramics.
Third place went to Hinata Arai from Japan with her work Border.
The jury was impressed by the use of material that creates a contrast between expressive form and geological structure.
All the award-winning and finalist works are presented in an exhibition at the Clam-Gallas Palace, which runs until January 10, 2026.
